Systemic design for sustainability workshop

Workshop created for UN Global Compact partners with Designit as the supplier (February 2023)

This 1 day workshop was created for an institution supporting multiple members to transition toward becoming sustainable businesses.

Workshop structure

The day was structured to begin with understanding what is systemic design and how it enables us to work with the complexity of sustainability. We applied that understanding in practice on the challenges the participants were facing, and ended the day with creating detailed ideas of how to tackle the challenges.

Engagement and feedback

Most participants found the approach of systemic design interesting, but felt that one day was not enough to dig deep into the methodology. However, the biggest highlight for me was when a participant shared, “I studied systems thinking in my masters, but didn’t understand much. I think I understood much more about systems thinking today.”
